The top 15 occupations by job openings are in high demand and accessible with on-the-job training during or beyond high school. These top occupations include: Carpenters; Construction Laborers; Operating Engineers; Electricians; Painters; Plumbers; Roofers; First-Line Construction Supervisors; Highway Maintenance Workers; Cement Masons and Concrete Finishers; Construction and Building Inspectors; Paving, Surfacing and Tamping Equipment Operators; Sheet Metal Workers; Earth Drillers; and Dry Wall and Ceiling Tile Installers.

That’s why the Humboldt County Office of Education is hosting a trade panel at Arcata High School on September 24th.

The conversation starts at 6:30 p.m., with panelists from O&M Industries, Pacific Builders, Maples Service and College of the Redwoods.

Organizers want to emphasize, this may be an event held at the high school, but it is open to the whole community.
