New Doctor joins Redwood Memorial’s Rural Health team

EUREKA, CA., (KIEM)- A new doctor joins the ranks of St. Joseph Health’s Rural Health Clinic at Redwood Memorial Hospital this week.
Doctor Rodney Swenson, DO, worked at a VA clinic in Redding, and prior to that, practiced at the VA clinic in eureka for eight years. He set up a private practice in Eureka that operated from 1995 until 2004.
Dr. Swenson says he’s delighted to care for people in the eel river valley, and is happy to return to the north coast. “This is a gorgeous part of the country and coupled with resources available from the local medical community, makes it an ideal setting for me and my family.” he says.

St. Joseph Health’s CEO, Dr. Roberta Luskin Hawke said, “Our top priority is to recruit and retain high-quality physicians like Dr. Swenson to care for our most vulnerable communities.The Rural Health Clinic at Redwood is a critical safety net for many in our area and we are committed to providing compassionate caregivers to serve this population.”

The Rural Health Clinic at Redwood Memorial Hospital is open from 8:00 a.m. until noon, and 1:30 until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
