Trinidad Rancheria proposes Casino Hotel

TRINIDAD – Trinidad Rancheria proposes a casino hotel on the North Coast near Ocean Views, but concerned members of the community request a meeting.

The Rancheria wants to build a 6-story, 100-room hotel along Scenic drive in Trinidad. It will include a business center, fitness room, café and bar, lounge, rooftop, and an indoor pool.

The tribe says building the hotel will create jobs for around 50 people.

Other ideas include a new Highway 101 interchange and an RV park.

The Humboldt Alliance for Responsible Planning believes that the public needs to be involved in the discussion of these proposals since it will have an impact on the county.

The harp public meeting will take place Thursday September 27th at Trinidad Town hall from 6 to 9 P.M.
