Arcata Police Department joins National Coffee with a Cop Day

Arcata, CA.,(KIEM) Wednesday is marked National Coffee with a Cop Day. A day dedicated to encourage communication and positive interactions between law enforcement agencies and the public.

In spirit, communities all over Humboldt County took to a coffee shop to sit and chat with a fellow police officers.

Arcata Police Department, one of the participating agencies, planned their meet and greet. At Bistro Café in the plaza. Residents got down to business asking questions regarding public safety, the department and duties of current officers.

Heidi Groszmann, and officer at APD expressed that days like this are important especially in times when police officers aren’t highly favored.

“We want you to call us, when you need us. We need to build that trust.”

This year makes 3 years for National Coffee with a Cop Day.
