CSU Chancellor meets with Arcata leaders on topics of financial crisis, Lawson investigation

ARCATA, Ca. (KIEM) Media representatives were invited to meet with CSU Chancellor Timothy White at Humboldt State University. There were remarks by the Chancellor, followed by an opportunity for questions.

The Chancellor arrived Monday for a series of meetings with different groups, focused primarily on sharing information about the search process for a new HSU president. He is also meeting local law enforcement officials for briefings on the investigation into the 2017 murder of HSU student David Josiah Lawson.

During his visit, the Chancellor is meeting with, among others, HSU President Lisa Rossbacher, representatives of HSU Associated Students and other students, HSU vice presidents and deans, members of HSU Staff Council, District Attorney Maggie Flemming, Interim Arcata Police Chief Rick Ehle, and Arcata City Manager Karen Diemer.

Among those accompanying the Chancellor is Loren Blanchard, CSU’s Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs. Vice Chancellor Blanchard is also holding a series of meetings with different groups on campus.
