Officers surround Eureka home following traffic stop

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM) – California highway patrol and other law enforcement swarm a west Eureka street following a traffic stop.

This was the scene just past midnight on Tuesday at the intersection of Highland Avenue, and Cottage Street in Eureka. A Garberville area CHP officer attempted to make a traffic stop just prior.The involved vehicle sped, and that officer called for backup when a person inside the vehicle attempted to enter a home in the neighborhood.

Multiple people came out of the residence, and officers searched the vehicle. No arrests were made.
