EUREKA, CA. (KIEM)-Local car dealerships may be able to expand, or relocate along highway 101. The City of Eureka is calling it an effective way to use abandoned space. The City of Eureka Development Service Department met with four local dealership owners to discuss the potential interest in a car dealership park, that would replace the abandoned lumber mill on the other side of the Midway dealership. When speaking with dealership owners today, most explained their disinterest in the project and would prefer to keep things as they are. City staff wants to explore the possibility of re-zoning that area, a car dealership seems to be one of the proposed structures to increase tax revenue.
