Man injured in butane hash-lab explosion

MCKINLEYVILLE, CA., (KIEM)- A man is recovering from severe burns Sunday, following a butane hash lab explosion in McKinleyville. The extraction lab, inside a shipping container, went up in flames just after 2:04 p.m. that afternoon. Deputies would arrive to the scene on east bates road to find a man wounded. They took him to the hospital to be treated for serious injuries. Then, the Drug Enforcement Unit was dispatched to search the property. This incident is under active investigation.
