Camp Fire claims 42 lives, becomes deadliest wildfire in state history

 

BUTTE COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – The Camp Fire is now the deadliest wildfire in state history, with 42 deaths confirmed as of Monday night.

Also as of Monday, 228 people are still considered missing. To report yourself as “safe and well” with the Red Cross, click here

As of Monday, the fire has scorched 117,000 acres, and is 30% contained. Firefighters say full containment is not in sight until the end of the month.

15,500 structures still are in harm’s way, and over 6,453 homes have already been destroyed.
