City of Eureka to hold special meeting to decide funding of $450,000 stoplight

EUREKA, CA. (KIEM) – In Eureka, the fate of new fast food chains, and a stoplight, will depend on a special meeting this Wednesday.

The space located on the corner of Vigo and Broadway, will potentially become a fast food plaza, that would include an In-N-Out. However, there’s a need for a $450,000 stoplight, before the project can move forward. The city asked to split the cost with the property owner, but the request was denied. So, the city may decide to use general funds to invest in this project.

Council will decide whether or not to approve the funding on Wednesday at 6PM in City Hall. The public is encouraged to give comments.
