Man arrested for vehicle theft and setting fires in Del Norte County

DEL NORTE COUNTY – A man is arrested for vehicle theft, and setting multiple fires in Del Norte County.

The Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fire on Siskiyou Fork Road on Saturday morning. Upon arrival, they found a stolen vehicle out of Ashland, Oregon.

The suspect is identified as Michael Lindauer, who was later arrested after residents spotted him at the Gasquet Market.

He was transported to the County Jail for Grand Theft, giving false information to an officer, and Arson.

As many as ten fires were reported over the weekend, all suspected to be linked to Lindauer.
