District Attorney responds to progression of Lawson Case

Humboldt County, Ca., (KIEM) The hunt for the person behind the murder of David Josiah Lawson, the Humboldt State University student who was fatally stabbed in April 2017, is still on.

The Arcata Police Department released that in late October it had completed its investigation of the murder and had turned over the evidence to the Humboldt County  District Attorney’s Office.

Redwood News reached out to the County’s District Attorney, Maggie Fleming, after reports were sent to the D.A’s Office by the Arcata Police Department.
Fleming responded in an email stating, “An initial review revealed that we will need additional existing documents and recordings from the Arcata Police Department. The case includes many reports and recordings that must be reviewed to determine how we will proceed. I anticipate that several weeks will be needed to review all the information.”

The District Attorney’s Office is working to solve the case but the status of the case remains unchanged. An arrest has not yet been made.
