Man arrested for burglary in Eureka

EUREKA – A man is behind bars tonight for a burglary in Eureka.

Around 6 this morning Eureka Police Department responded to a call about an in-progress burglary on the 200 block of Hillsdale Street.

The victim told EPD that the suspect, later identified as Ronald Olson-Navarro had broken into their garage. Their husband had detained Olson-Navarro and when officers arrived on scene he was taken into custody without incident.

EPD did find that he had possession of items that he stole from the victim’s vehicle the previous night.

Olson-Navarro was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional facility for burglary, possession of stolen property and controlled substance.

He is being held on $50,000 bail. The investigation is ongoing.
