Arcata Chief of Police builds community and police partnership

Arcata, Ca., (KIEM) Chief Brian Ahearn of Arcata Police Department hit the streets of Arcata Sunday. The newest Chief of Police participated in a city community walk with the purpose to build upon the Arcata community and police partnership.

Sunday morning at the corners of Chester and Marilyn Avenue, officers and community members shared information and established priorities while walking in the neighborhoods where people lived and where Arcata police serve.

Chief Ahearn shared that one of his main priorities is the community, “The City of Arcata and the department are committed to delivering police services that are community-based and designed to improve the quality of life in all Arcata neighborhoods.”

Chief Ahearn comes from San Diego, California and said he’s excited to be a new member of the City of Arcata and the Arcata Police Department.
