EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM) – Humboldt Bay Fire is sending a message of support to a 10-year-old boy in Philadelphia, who lost his fire fighting Father.

Evan Potter’s father Michael suddenly died in January 2016, and since then, Evan has been collecting patches at every fire station he visits.

Philadelphia’s Engine 33 is collecting as many patches as they can, to surprise Evan on Christmas morning.

Humboldt Bay Fire Captain David Terry says Evan will need to find a new board, because collection is about to grow.
