Two arrested after stolen firearms, motorcycle discovered in Orleans

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM) – Two men are arrested after they are found in possession of a stolen motorcycle, firearms, and other stolen items linked to multiple burglaries

42-year-old Curtis Dalme McCovey, and 20-year-old Antonio Ramone Escalderon were arrested after the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team conducted a search at a property in the area of Ferris Ranch Road in Orleans.

The SWAT team located four loaded firearms, two of which were reported as stolen, as well as a motorcycle stolen out of Siskiyou County, along with several miscellaneous stolen items linked to multiple burglaries.

McCovey was booked into the Humboldt County Jail on charges of possession of stolen property, and being a felon in possession of a firearm, among other charges. His bail is set at $60,000. Escalderon was also booked, and charged with possession of stolen property, and possession of a controlled substance.

On Dec. 4, 2018, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team conducted an operation at a property in the area of Ferris Ranch Road in Orleans to locate a suspect known to be armed and dangerous and search for possible stolen property associated with multiple recent burglaries.

While on scene, deputies located and arrested Curtis Dalme McCovey, 42, and Antonio Ramone Escalderon, 20, without incident.

Deputies also located four loaded firearms, two of which were reported as stolen, a motorcycle reported stolen out of Siskiyou County and several other items of stolen property linked to multiple area burglaries.

McCovey was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of possession of stolen property, felon in possession of a firearm, prohibited person in possession of ammunition and a warrant for possession of metal knuckles. His bail is set at $60,000.

Escalderon was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.
