Humboldt deputies warn of new social security phone scam

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM) – The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office warns of a scammer making the rounds, claiming to be from with the Social Security Administration.

The sheriff’s office says the caller is asking residents for personal information, and claims there is a problem issuing your SSA check with their computer system.

As always, if you ever suspect a scam, report to law enforcement.
