Second victim dies in Highway 101 crash

CRESCENT CITY, Ca (KIEM)- Another person has died from Sunday’s crash on Highway 101 south of Crescent City.

The California Highway Patrol confirmed 18 year-old Rubi Gonzalez passed away from injuries she sustained in the crash. She was riding in the back of a Saturn sedan that was traveling northbound near the Mill Creek Campground. The car crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a Winnebago.

A 60-year-old man in the car also died. The driver, 45-year old Miguelina Gonzalez sustained major injuries. A male juvenile was also injured. They were all were transported to Sutter Coast Hospital.

The driver and passenger of the RV had minor injuries.
