Three dogs stolen from Miranda’s Rescue in Fortuna

FORTUNA, Ca. (KIEM) – Three dogs are stolen from an animal shelter in Fortuna, and the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in finding them.

The dogs were stolen from their kennels at Miranda’s rescue on Saturday, according to deputies. The shelter is located on the 16 hundred block of Sandy Prairie Road.

The first dog is described as a brindle colored pit bull mix named Lucy, who is about a year and a half, and about 55 pounds.

Two black and brown rottweiller-mastif mix puppies, both four months old, and about 40 pounds, were also stolen.

Due to medical costs for these animals, they would have been adopted for about $400 each.

Anyone with information on where these dogs are should contact the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Greg Allen at (707) 445-7251.
