Man and woman behind bars for possessing illegal narcotics and firearms

FORTUNA, Ca. (KIEM) –A man and woman are behind bars tonight for possessing illegal narcotics and firearms.

Around 9 am yesterday morning a Fortuna Police Sergeant approached a suspicious vehicle with two people in it, parked on the 800 block of Main Street.

Upon investigation they found 11 ounces of suspected Methamphetamine that was packed for sale, a stolen handgun from Washington, and an assault rifle.

The vehicle occupants were identified as Janet Mallett and Donnell Campbell. They were arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale, assault weapon, and stolen property.
