Man shot on Orleans Bridge

ORLEANS, Ca(KIEM)- A man is recovery after he was shot while riding his bike across the Orleans Bridge on State Route 96.

It happened at around 8:30 Sunday night when a man in a white van pulled up and shot the victim once in the leg.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s office said the victim was transported to the hospital and treated for injuries which appeared to be made by bird shot commonly used in shotguns. The van was last seen going southbound on 96.
