California Highway Patrol in Maximum Enforcement New Year’s Eve

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca., (KIEM)- If you are thinking about hitting the roads after having a few drinks, you should know that California Highway Patrol is in what they call their Maximum Enforcement Period until 11:59 Tuesday night.

They want to focus on drunk and other impaired drivers with many people on the roads during the late night hours.

During last year’s festivities, 40 people were killed in accidents on California’s roads. CHP also made 936 arrests for those that were driving under the influence during last year’s enforcement period.
