Extreme Weather Shelther Opens in Arcata

Arcata, Ca. (KIEM) – With the cold and wet weather that is expected this weekend, Arcata House Partnership is opening its doors to the homeless.

Earlier today, doors opened at two o’clock this afternoon at the Annex Building. The Extreme Weather Shelter is offering shower, shelter screenings, and providing clean clothes.

Afterwards, clients will be able spending the night sleeping in a warm and safe environment at the organization’s partner church. Tomorrow, clients will be able to have a hot breakfast.

Later this month, the shelter will be doing their Point-and-Time Count. It’s a national count, where they count how many people are homeless in Humboldt County.
