In Fortuna, a new code compliance officer plans to clean up the streets through a program funded by Measure E.

Police Chief Bill Doberstein introduced Wayne Hanson at Monday night’s city council meeting.

Hanson tells us he plans to take care of nuisance properties and help clean up the city. The former sheriff’s lieutenant says this is a mechanism to enforce city ordinances that have already been in place.

Hanson started the new part time position last week.
