HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – New or used coats, coats for the cold takes them all. Their mission is to give a coat to those who don’t have one. Some helpful heroes took some time out of their busy school schedule to make sure those without a coat can stay warm.

These 4 girls should’ve been out at recess. But instead of playing in the yard, they were sorting out coats.

One girl, says “I really like helping people.” She goes on to add “I like giving them warmth a lot because some people are homeless and they like to get warmth.”

By donating their time, the girls were able to give back. They made sure that someone who doesn’t have a coat, will be able to get one and stay warm.

Brian Lovell, Director of After School Programs of the Arcata School District, said he loves seeing the kids get involved.

Founder of Robert Lohn said “I feel great about it.” Lohn says that the next generation is the future.

Many local businesses are also stepping up. They have donated their coats and jackets to help out the less fortunate.
