Eureka Rescue Mission in need of items

Eureka, Ca., (KIEM) Reports show that more than a half million Americans experienced homelessness in 2018, and about 1.5 million people sought out some sort of emergency shelter or assistance over that same period, especially during the cooler months.

The dropping temperatures on the North Coast also cause shelters to open and one in particular fights to keep Humboldt’s homeless population afloat, protected, and cared for.

With that, the Eureka Rescue Mission is asking for your help to donate items from tissues paper, bleach, and soap.

Along with a few other items said the Mission’s Executive Director, Bryan Hall.

“This time of the year with the inclement weather we’re always in need of blankets, used blankets are fine if they’re clean,” said Hall. “We need diapers sizes 4, 5, and 6 for the Women and Children’s Shelter. There is always a need for food. Anything that you would use for yourself at home, we just have a much larger scale here at the Rescue Mission.”

Donation can be dropped off at the mission any time and day of the year.
