Man dead after head on collision near Weott

One man is dead after a head on collision in Southern Humboldt.

It happened at around 4:30 this afternoon, when a Toyota Tundra drifted into the southbound lanes of Highway 101 and collided with a Toyota Camry, north of the Weott off-ramp. CalFire had to use the Jaws of Life to free the victims from their vehicles.

The male driver of the Camry was transported to St. Joseph Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Tundra was also transported to St. Joseph Hospital with moderate injuries.
