Arcata, Ca., (KIEM) Community policing has long been considered a framework for creating trust between the community and the police. Wednesday, Arcata Police Department will do just that by hosting their Coffee with a cop.
The key is to open the door for interactions outside of the crisis situations that typically bring law enforcement officers and residents together.
This will be APD’s first coffee with a cop for the New Year. No agenda or speeches, just a chance to ask questions, voice concerns, and get to know APD officers and chief.
Arcata Police will be at Jitterbean on Valley West Boulevard in Arcata from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Coffee with a cop was launched in Hawthorne, California in 2011.
