Fatal pedestrian victim identified

EUREKA (KIEM)- The male pedestrian who was struck and killed on Highway 101 south of Eureka has been identified.

At around 6:30 Tuesday morning, 56 year-old Aaron Wade Kangas was struck by a Chevy truck that was merging northbound onto the highway from Humboldt Hill.

It’s still unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor. The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
