Man arrested on drug charges

ARCATA (KIEM)- A man from Sonora, Mexico was arrested on drug charges.

28 year-old Jorge Luis Valdez Chavez was taken into custody after law enforcement located Valdez-Chavez in the driveway of a residence on the 500 block of Warren Creek Road in Arcata.

Around 6 pounds of suspected heroin and $6,000 was found at the location.

Valdez-Chavez was booked for possession and transportation of controlled substances for the purpose of sales.
