Humboldt County Board of Supervisors Vote in Favor of Klamath Dam Removal Project

KLAMATH, Ca. (KIEM) – The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors voted in favor on the Klamath Dam Removal Project.

The California Water Board will be holding public hearings for the removal of these four major dams. Groups are calling a superior alternative. The dams currently affect the salmon. Environmental experts say, by removing the dams, it will help to bring the salmon back. The approval for the dam’s removal is expected to be finalized next year.

Another meeting about the dams will be held at the Neighborhood Center in Arcata tomorrow at 6 P.M. Supervisor Mike Wilson will also be in attendance.
