EUREKA, CA. (KIEM) – For nearly twenty years the Eureka Rescue Mission has been saving up to renovate its emergency shelter. On Monday, crews were working fast to finish the dormitory renovations at its old town facility. Executive Director Bryan Hall says the renovations have always been a dream for previous Directors.

The final phase will be repairing the roof, which is anticipated to be finished before the end of the year. For safety reasons, we were not allowed inside, but we plan on showing you the changes once the project is completed.

In the meantime, the Rescue Mission is in need of gently used blankets, socks, and canned foods. Donations can be dropped off at 100 second St in Eureka between 8 am and 4:30 pm.
