Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office rescues four lives with Sno-Cat

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) –The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office rescues four lives with the use of a Sno-Cat.

Around 10:30 Sunday morning, the Sheriff’s Office got an alert that four people were stranded on Highway 299 in heavy snow near Bair road. That’s when HCSO Search and Rescue came out with their Sno-Cat. After several hours of going through trees and snow, they located everyone. Besides being chilly, they are all okay.

The Sheriff’s Office recommends if you’re going to be out traveling in the snow this week bring an emergency kit with blankets, water, food, flashlights, and a cellphone battery charger.
