EUREKA, CA. (KIEM) – The City of Eureka is exploring ways to lower its carbon footprint.

As part of a climate action plan, city officials will look at other communities on how current policies encourage sustainability. Some ideas that are circling around City Hall include using electric cars or hybrid vehicles for the city fleetĀ and investing more in public transportation.

Council will meet next Tuesday the 19th at Eureka City hall at 6 pm. They encourage the public to send ideas, on how the city can reduce its carbon footprint.
