High School students hear human trafficking presentation

EUREKA, CA. (KIEM) – Many of us have heard of the dangers and dire circumstances with human trafficking. This afternoon local high school students got to hear the testimony of a trafficking survivor first hand.

Eureka high school hosted today’s assembly. Where just under 300 students got a dose of reality. Katrina Taylor shared her experience as a victim. In addition to talking about her past, Taylor hopes that her curriculum is taught at other area high schools.

Both Eureka High School and Saint Bernards academy provide human trafficking awareness and prevention based curriculum. Taylor says as teachers become more comfortable talking about the topic more students will become aware of the dangers That would lead to less trafficking.
