Department of Health and Human Services Conducts Wet Weather Testing

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – The Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services is conducting its wet weather test period.

During this time, the DHHS tests and monitors any proposed on-site wastewater treatment. The purpose of the test is to see if the ground water is affected if a new septic system were to be installed. It’s also to assess if there will be any public health risks.

The test period is expected to last until April 1st. But if there’s not enough rain, testing could close earlier.

Anyone looking to install a new septic system is asked to contact DHHS in order to get testing underway.
