Freshwater School Hosts 36th Annual Regional Spelling Bee

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM) – It was a test of spelling skills.

Freshwater School hosted the 36th Annual Regional Spelling Bee. Twenty-five kids from thirteen schools came to test their skills. Family members came to support the kids. Students from 4th through 6^th grade participated.

Students were challenged to spell words like “career”, “argue”, and “direct”.

The two winners from the spelling bee will move on to the Humboldt County Spelling Bee, which will be held on March 1^st.
