The City of Fortuna may adopt a Syringe Management Ordinance

FORTUNA, CA. (KIEM) – A drug use epidemic has led to an increase in needle litter for the City of Fortuna.

According to Fortuna and Eureka city officials, there is no easy solution. However city staff is working with California’s Department of public and Human Services and the Humboldt Area Center for Harm Reduction to provide public safety for all.

Fortuna City Council will have the second reading of the ordinance on Monday March 18th at 6 at Fortuna City Hall
