Grant Awarded to Help Local Homeless Assistance Programs

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – The Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded Humboldt County with a large grant. The money will be used to help eight homeless assistance programs.

Over 800,000 dollars was given to the county. Grant renewals were also awarded to Arcata House Partnership, 211, and The Department of Health and Human Services. It will be used for programs such as permanent supportive housing, supportive services, and even rental assistance.

The money awarded this year is based on 2017’s Point in Time numbers.

With the numbers that came in from this year’s Point in Time Count, they’re hoping to have more funding for the county.
