Justin Lehnert to be Recognized at Washington D.C.

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – You’ve heard of the miraculous story of two young sisters that went missing in Southern Humboldt a little over a week ago. After spending two nights in the woods the girls, ages five and eight years old, were found virtually unharmed. The man whose program more or less saved the Benbow sisters is being recognized in Washington D.C.

The National 4H Council is honoring Justin Lehnert at the 4H Legacy Awards.

It’s the program’s largest fundraiser.

This year, Lehnert is being recognized at a national level. It’s to honor his efforts, as well as his Outdoor Adventures Program.

Since the missing sisters were found, the Miranda 4H Club has seen a boost in interest with youth in the area.
