The City of Eureka Names its Artist of the Year for 2018

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM) – The City of Eureka announced its new Artist of the Year for 2018 and it’s likely you’ve seen the artist’s work around town.

Johnathan DeSoto took home the prize for artist of the year. The Eureka City Council picked DeSoto because they say his art represents the community. DeSoto painted several utilities boxes around Eureka. During the Eureka Street Art Festival he painted a mural in Opera Ally. 

DeSoto is a Humboldt County native. He is an artist whose work ties in with the current dynamic of our world.
