Fortuna receives new fire truck

FORTUNA (KIEM)- The Fortuna Volunteer Fire Department is replacing its 30 year old truck, with a brand new, million dollar upgrade.

Their Pierce 100 aerial truck, is state of the art. The fire district claims, because they’ve been frugal with their money, and because the purchase was made up-front, it has saved taxpayers nearly $70,000.

The new truck will primarily service Fortuna, but it will also be made available to southern Humboldt  and as north as Arcata.

An open house will be held as soon as the truck is put into service.
