Car crashes into pole knocking out power to 1,000 residents in Humboldt Hill area

HUMBOLDT HILL (KIEM)- A car crashed into a power pole knocking out electricity to over 1,000 residents in Humboldt Hill, King Salmon and Fields Landing.

It happened at around 12:30 Saturday morning when a Honda Accord going westbound on Purdue Drive went off the roadway and struck a power pole snapping it in half.

No one was injured in the crash.

Humboldt Bay Fire and the California Highway Patrol both responded to the scene.
