Rio Dell City Council approves to expand Commercial Cannabis Land Use and Cultivation Tax

RIO DELL, Ca. (KIEM) – The City of Rio Dell is giving Commercial Cannabis the green light to open up shops downtown. In a 3 to 1 vote, City Council voted to expand their land use.

This will allow up to three retail dispensaries in the Town Center Zone, but only through the request for approval process.

Also at last night’s meeting, city council unanimously approved a taxation system for the process. Specifically, the tax rate will be $2 per square foot for cultivation, and 2 percent gross receipt for all other activities.

The land use and taxation will go into effect 30 days from last night.
