Motorcyclist leads officers on high speed chase

EUREKA, CA. (KIEM) – A man on a reported stolen motorcycle leads law enforcement on a high-speed chase.

A Eureka Police Officer spotted the Honda CBR 1000 motorcycle at around 2:50 this afternoon near “5th” and “P”, in Eureka. The officer tried to make a traffic stop but the motorcyclist, identified as 34 year-old Kenneth Burns of Rio Dell failed to yield. Speeds reached 90 miles an hour going across the Samoa Bridge, then north on state Route 255, and then where the chase ended in Arcata on Seidel Road. Burns was taken into custody and transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. He faces charges of felony pursuit and driving on suspended license.
