Three arrested in Fortuna for drugs, warrants

FORTUNA (KIEM)- As part of an ongoing investigation, Fortuna Police make three arrests for drugs and warrants.

On Thursday afternoon, they served a search warrant at a home on the 1800 block of Alamar Way. Police say they saw Jahon Smith of Compton disposing of a large amount of methamphetamine.

Officers were still able to recover 21 grams of meth and arrested Smith for possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of marijuana for sale and destroying evidence.

Officers then responded to a residence on Riverwalk Drive and arrested Michael Ray Thurston of Fortuna and Nora Hunter of Shasta County. Both were wanted on outstanding warrants.

Hunter was wanted for possession of an explosive device and illegal discharge of a firearm.

All three were booked into the Humboldt County correctional facility.
