City awards historic establishment, Business of the Year

Eureka, Ca., (KIEM) The city of Eureka recognizes a historic Eureka establishment as the business of the year this week.

The Inn at 2nd & C located in the city’s historic Eagle House took home the award for best business of 2018.

This after, the city created a business of the week, month, and year program in an effort to promote and acknowledge local businesses.

The owners say they love that they can assist with bringing the community together

“People are just amazed by how beautiful it is,” said one of the owners, Jenny Metz. “The decorations that we’ve done, the revitalizing, we put in a new roof, we cleaned up underneath the building…they love the mixture of the old Victorian as well as bringing in some modern amenities.”

Owner Rebecca Rex continued, “We saw the potential for the growth and the revitalization of Old Town Eureka and we’re seeing that every day…it’s incredible.”
