Hoopa man in stable condition after shooting

HOOPA (KIEM)- A Hoopa man is in stable condition after he was shot at his residence.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s office responded to a home on Pine Creek Road near Soctish Creek just after 10 Thursday night. It was there where deputies located a 57 year-old shooting victim.

The man was in bed when someone outside started shooting at the residence. The victim was struck by the gunfire and exited the home after the shooting stopped.

A nearby resident said he heard 5 gunshots.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the sheriff’s office.
