Eureka man arrested for attempted murder, large amount of guns, ammunition

A Eureka man is behind bars after police say he fired a gun and threatened to kill his own family.

Police responded to the 3600 block of Union Street just after 8:30 Sunday night. When they arrived at the residence, a family member was trying to take the firearm away from 66 year-old Danny Floyd Waters who were both on the living room floor. Police were able to disarm waters and take him into custody.

Officers seized 19 firearms and over 100 pounds of various caliber ammunition. Several of the firearms were not California compliant.

Waters was booked for attempted murder, assault with a firearm, threats and resisting arrest. His bail is set at $750,000.
