Juvenile wanted for brandishing firearm at police

EUREKA, CA. (KIEM) – The Eureka Police Department is asking for help in locating a juvenile. After police say the suspect brandished a firearm at an officer.

17-year-old Jon Patrick Benton is wanted by police after an incident that occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday. Police say Benton pointed a handgun at a deputy and an officer. At a residence on the 300 Block of Dollison Street. Police tell Redwood News Benton fled out of an upstairs window and escaped after authorities retreated to set up a perimeter. Benton is described as a white male, 5-feet 10-inches, roughly weighing 125 pounds, with brown hair, and brown eyes.

Benton is considered to be armed and dangerous. Anyone with information regarding Benton’s whereabouts is asked to call the Eureka Police Department or 9-1-1.
